A most unlikely feminist
It seems that I've become a most unlikely feminist. This weekend, at a very modern shopping centre, I went to buy a magazine from a well-stocked bookshop. Having run out of cash, I asked Becky to please pay for me. The man behind the till then refused to give Becky the change, and handed it to me.

Belittle the king or Islam and you face the music
Common sense suggests that one shouldn't take too much notice of the domestic affairs of a country that you are only temporarily living in, especially if the local culture is quite different from your own. However, the recent actions of government ministers has made me feel rather righteous about free speech.
